Minor School Permit (License)

            Quick facts:

            How to get a Minor School License.

  • Must complete a driver education course.
  • Have had an instruction permit and a clean driving record for at least six consecutive months prior to applying for a minor school license.
  • Must be at least 14 ½ years old.
  • Must live at least one mile or more from your school. 

What can I do with a Minor School License?

  • Drive from your home to your school for class or school sponsored activities.
  • Must take the most direct route to and from your school.
  • You can stop for fuel at a gas station that’s on your route or one that is closest to your route.

What you can’t do with a Minor School License.

  • Drive to work without adult supervision.
  • Use a cell phone or any other type of electronic communication device while driving.
  • Have more than one unrelated minor passenger.

Violations of a Minor School License could result in a 30 day suspension of your license and fines.
