Learn-to-Swim Program
The Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By giving them the opportunity to master one element before moving on to the next, our kids' swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water. During their swim lessons, children will spend time on the following six levels:
Parent/Child (Ages 6 months to 3 years)
Teach safe behaviors around the water and develop swimming readiness by leading parents and their children in water exploration activities with the objective of having fun and becoming comfortable in, on, and around water. A parent must accompany each child in the water. Children not toilet trained must wear swim diapers.
Preschool 1 (Ages 3 to 4)
Familiarize children with the aquatic environment and help them acquire rudimentary basic aquatic skills. Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around water.
Preschool 2 (Ages 4 to 5)
Experience independent propulsive swimming movements. Experience advanced starter adjustment activities. Be exposed to appropriate water safety skills. Practice combined skills for basic swimming forms.
Level 1 (Ages 5 Plus) - Introduction to Water Skills
Introduced to basic skills as the foundation for future skills and the development of water competency.
Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills
Expands on skills learned in Level 1. Begins gaining rudimentary propulsive skills on both the front and the back. Marks the beginning of independent aquatic locomotion skills.
Level 3: Stroke Development
Learns to swim various new strokes at rudimentary levels. Introduced to the scissor and dolphin kicks, while increasing the time duration for treading water.
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
Introduce new swimming and water safety skills. Improve swimming stroke proficiency and swimming for longer distances.
Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Refine all six swimming strokes including swimming for longer distances. Introduce new water safety skills while building on the ones previously learned.
Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency
Students will learn to swim with ease and efficiency and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances.
